Been a long time between missives, but we haven’t been idle and there is a fair bit of news, as you will see below. So let’s get straight down to it:
· Final two Flood shows for 2007 this weekend
· Brand New single to radio in December
· New Flood venue for Tamworth Music Festival
· New album out early 2008!
· James Gillard – CMAA Musician of The Year 2007
· New Website
GIGS
The last two Flood shows for 2007 – don’t miss ‘em! We’re back at the Heritage Hotel in Wollongong this Friday – haven’t been there in a while – and the big Saturday ‘let’s ignore election night’ gig at The Vanguard in Newtown. Yep, when little Johnnie finally announced an election date six weeks ago, apparently Malcom Turnbull was spewin’, because he had tickets to The Flood at The Vanguard. It’s OK, we let him swap them, so he’s coming to the Heritage on Friday instead.
Seriously though, hope to see you at either or both shows – apparently dinner/show tix are sold out for Saturday, but you can still get tix to the gig. James ‘Muso of the Year’ Gillard (more on that later) is AWOL this weekend, but the mighty Ian D Lees (Chasin’ The Train, Movin’ Piccies) casts an equally formidable bass shadow across The Flood stage and will do so for these two gigs….

And if that isn’t enough, don’t forget to checkout the final two Kevin Bennett & Bill Chambers ‘Wednesdays in November’ gigs at The Excelsior in Surry Hills. They have been bloody ripper gigs by all accounts, with some surprise guests:

Kevin Bennett and Bill Chambers
The Excelsior Hotel - Surry Hills
8.30pm $15
Wednesday, 29 November 2007

NEW SINGLE and NEW ALBUM
Yes, we’ve been busy hunkered down in the studio in Oct/Nov quietly making a new album: ‘Everybody’s Favourite’. The first single – ‘Can’t Work No Longer’ goes to radio in December. If your favourite radio station – whatever the format - isn’t playing it, feel free to give them a call and ask them ‘why not?’! If they say they haven’t got it, bung us their details and email address and we’ll make sure they do have it!
In the next day or so we’ll post the song at our myspace site: www.myspace.com/kbandtheflood for your free listening pleasure. If you haven’t signed up yet, then join us at myspace. In addition, in the weeks leading up to the Tamworth launch of the album we’ll bung one song a week up there for you to checkout, so watch for that.
NEW TAMWORTH VENUE
Yep – the rumours are true, and a legendary straight ten years (???.. anyone know how long exactly?) at the Tamworth Hotel comes to an end in 2008. The new venue for The Flood is the Family Hotel and of course Sunday at midday at The Pub as we have done for the last couple of years. The Mick Pealing Trio - Pealing, Carruthers and Dean – come over to The Family with us for the Thursday and Friday nights, as well as joining us for the ‘Tamworth Album Launch’ party at the Pub on Sunday 27th.

JG - MUSO OF THE YEAR
On September 10th James Gillard – 50% of The Flood ‘engine room’ - was anointed ‘Musician Of The Year’ at the CMAA Achiever Awards. Came as no surprise to his compadres in The Flood of course – we’ve known for a long time that he’s the muso of the decade – so good onya Jimbo and a hearty toast from your fellow Floodies…
